These cable tension monitoring systems are operated to perform various tasks, such as, drill support; subsea development; reviewing pipelines, on structures and cables; operating and maintaining valves and other moving parts on subsea manifolds; trenching for submarine links and pipelines; sea-bed surveys; inspection and maintenance of platforms; video observation of both divers and underwater equipment.
Transmission between the administrator and the ROV is controlled by an umbilical/tether cable. ROV cables are used in extreme environments, exposed to dynamic cycling, thermal and electrical stress, currents and rough seas. SENSY’s subsea tensiometers ensure safety transmission to a remote location of the measurement of the tensile force on power, measurement and the communication cable.
*ROV stands for Remotely Operated Vehicle
